There is one negative about the blast furnace, and it's that you get half the experience for smelting things as you do in the normal furnace. Now all we need to do is put all our ingredients together to complete the blast furnace recipe! Place your furnace in the middle of the grid, place three iron bars across the top, one iron bar on either side of the furnace, and line the bottom with smooth stone to create it! Once you've got your three normal stone, throw that in the furnace and heat it up into smooth stone! This requires us to either have a silk touch pickaxe, which can mine stone and receive it normally, or we'll have to smelt some cobblestone. We need three smooth stone, so to create it we're going to need stone. This can be accomplished by throwing in our iron ore into a normal furnace with some fuel. We need five iron bars to create the iron bars we'll need for the blast furnace. It's one of the more common ores you will find in the game. If you can't find it that way, mine your way downwards, and you should eventually come across it. You also might see it in the side of a mountain or hill. Any space that's opened up which gives you a lot of surface area to explore makes it easier to spot it. Both caves and ravines are great places to find the ore. We're going to need five iron ore, which can be found pretty much anywhere there's stone to be mined. Add The Blast Furnace Recipe Items To The Menu In the crafting table, add the iron ingots, smooth stones, and furnace to the grid. You should see the same grid as in the image below. You might want to create two furnaces, because one will be used in the process of creating the blast furnace. Open Your Crafting Menu To craft a blast furnace, you first need to open your crafting table in Minecraft. The initial heat draw is large, but the Furnace will require a small amount of heat to continue running once sufficiently heated. To run, it must be given a source of heat, such as being placed adjacently to an Electric Heater. CRAFTING BLAST FURNACE IN MINECRAFT (1) Furnace Crafted using any stone-tier block, including Cobblestone and Blackstone. Just throw eight cobblestone into your crafting table to make a furnace. It's not too difficult to round up these materials, but smooth stone isn't a typical thing we use in recipes, so creating it might be new to you! To make a blast furnace in Minecraft you will need five iron ingots, one furnace, and three smooth stone.
